This version might be a little more taxing on computers with a low amount of cores. If you have 8 cores or less, I highly recommend getting the 6-, 4- or 3-thread versions instead. WebbStarbound, in its current state, is very CPU intensive. Those spikes are most likely when new chunks of the map load. The devs want to optimize the game so that it is not so CPU intensive, but we might not see that fix for a little bit with all of the new content they have planned.
