Reactive diffusion
WebEnzymatic reactive crystallization of β-lactam antibiotics provides a promising method for efficient and large-scale manufacturing. Since practical processes rely on immobilized enzyme for operation, a robust process model needs to take into account three phenomena of enzymatic reaction, species diffusion, and crystallization of the products. WebMay 8, 2024 · The permeability of the two types of barrier is determined and discussed. The developed models fit well with the dedicated model experiments, leading to a better understanding of the barrier effect on the reactive diffusion and allowing us to predict the barrier behaviour in various applications.

Reaction–diffusion systems are mathematical models which correspond to several physical phenomena. The most common is the change in space and time of the concentration of one or more chemical substances: local chemical reactions in which the substances are transformed into each other, and diffusion … See more The simplest reaction–diffusion equation is in one spatial dimension in plane geometry, $${\displaystyle \partial _{t}u=D\partial _{x}^{2}u+R(u),}$$ is also referred to as … See more For a variety of systems, reaction–diffusion equations with more than two components have been proposed, e.g. the See more Well-controllable experiments in chemical reaction–diffusion systems have up to now been realized in three ways. First, gel reactors or filled capillary tubes may be used. Second, temperature pulses on catalytic surfaces have been investigated. Third, the … See more Two-component systems allow for a much larger range of possible phenomena than their one-component counterparts. An important idea that was first proposed by Alan Turing is that a state that is stable in the local system can become unstable in the presence of See more In recent times, reaction–diffusion systems have attracted much interest as a prototype model for pattern formation. The above-mentioned … See more A reaction–diffusion system can be solved by using methods of numerical mathematics. There are existing several numerical treatments in research literature. WebMar 8, 2004 · In a layered system, phase formation occurs often by reactive diffusion in which interface reactions and diffusion contribute [2, 3,4, 5]. After nucleation of a phase at an interface, usually a... WebWe determine the asymptotic spreading speed of the solutions of a Fisher-KPP reaction-diffusion equation, starting from compactly supported initial data, when the diffusion coefficient is a fixed bounded monotone profile that is shifted at a given forcing speed and satisfies a general uniform ellipticity condition. Depending on the monotonicity of the …
WebReaction-diffusion equations describe the behaviour of a large range of chemical systems where diffusion of material competes with the production of that material by some form of chemical reaction. Many other kinds of systems are described by the same type of relation. WebFeb 25, 2024 · The two important factors in a reaction diffusion model are, unsurprisingly, reaction and diffusion. The reaction takes place only at the walls of the well but diffusion occurs throughout the system. After reacting, the chemical is considered to be removed from the system.
