He is my #1 stud for Yorkshire Terriers, and all puppies have been fine. WebFirst let me explain how a bile acid test works. What we do is measure the level of bile acids when a dog is completely fasted. If a dog has serious liver disease usually these levels would be very high. Then, what we do is feed the dog some fatty high protein food (like puppy food) and then 1 or 2 hours later we will measure the bile acids again.
